Underwater weighing, also known as "hydrostatic testing", is based on the ancient Archimedes principle of water displacement. It is the simplest and most accurate method available to measure body volume in order to calculate body density, the gold standard used by leading research universities to determine body fat percent.
Bradford Products has partnered with EXERTECH Body Density Measurement Systems to develop a body immersion pool that is ideally-proportioned for total immersion of persons while they are seated, cross-legged on a weighing platform.
The weighing system is battery-powered and wireless. It transmits data by radio waves to a receiver which plugs into the USB port of a computer. Body density and fat percent are calculated instantaneously by EXERTECH's user-friendly software.
